Because faxes arrive in your e-mail, you never have to worry about the fax machine running out of ink or toner which could cause the fax machine to stop taking incoming faxes until the ink or toner is replaced.

Never worry that faxes are not coming in due to the machine being out of paper. When a fax machine runs out of paper it either stops taking faxes until more paper is supplied or it will continue taking faxes until the fax machine's memory fills up, then it will stop taking faxes.
